San Diego FC will be one of the teams to watch in the 2025 MLS season, with a squad that promises to be competitive in their inaugural year.

After SDFC officially announced the signing of Hirving ‘Chucky’ Lozano as their first Designated Player, rumors about potential arrivals have not stopped.

Tyler Heaps confirmed that San Diego FC will sign top players, as long as there is a balance between young talents and stars. This has further fuelled speculation.

Following the MLS Expansion Draft and MLS SuperDraft, where the Snapdragon Stadium side began shaping their squad, attention has once again turned to possible signings.

Now, the media is speculating indirectly about the potential arrival of a UEFA Champions League winner at San Diego.

Manchester City ‘must sign’ Kevin De Bruyne’s replacement amid MLS move rumors

Kevin De Bruyne’s name has been linked to a move to MLS for months, specifically to San Diego FC.

Now, Forbes once again cites SDFC as one of the most likely destinations for the veteran Belgian player.

The report focuses on Manchester City’s need to find a replacement for De Bruyne, with the Belgian’s era at the Etihad Stadium nearing its end.

The fact that Forbes mentions San Diego FC as a possible destination has reignited rumors about the Champions League winner potentially joining the border-based club.

With only one Designated Player slot currently filled, SDFC’s management still has room to make a signing of Kevin De Bruyne’s caliber.

Which other stars could join San Diego FC?

Reports suggest a star-studded lineup could grace the field for San Diego FC.

Names such as Keylor Navas, Nacho, Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric, and even Neymar have been mentioned in various sources, including El Diario.

The reality is that some of the names mentioned have “cooled off” in recent weeks and months.

Just a few days ago, it emerged that San Diego FC are no longer interested in Erick Gutiérrez, a former teammate of Hirving Lozano who now plays for Chivas in Liga MX.

Brandon Vázquez and Diego Valdés, from Monterrey and América respectively, have also been linked to SDFC.
